Bula.
My name is Ana Laqeretabua and I am the Principal Consultant at Salt Inc. I am also a John Maxwell Certified Speaker, Coach, Trainer and facilitator licensed to teach, facilitate and coach using the John Maxwell material. My passion is to nurture, encourage and grow people and to coach them to develop into the fullness of their potential.
My Story
With paternal links to Namata, Bau, Tailevu and maternal links to Namena, Tailevu, my childhood started a far way away from Fiji's southern region. I was born in the cathedral city of Ely, Cambridgeshire, UK and lived in the UK with my parents and three brothers for the first decade of my life, after which we moved to Fiji as a family. I spent much of my life as a young adult in Fiji, with a year of schooling in NZ to finish off my compulsory, I eventually found myself working in various places across Fiji. This included the Fiji Times and Sheraton Resorts. I eventually went back to England to pursue both of my degrees, albeit at different times in my life, however much of my academic background is informed by this.

Since then I have worked on a range of communications and development assignments in the Pacific region for the last decade providing advice and guidance to development partners in the areas of gender mainstreaming, gender analysis and strategic communications. Recent assignments include technical assistance to the Government of Tuvalu in the development of a Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment policy, the development of gender profiles for 11 Forum island countries for the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and a consultant to AusAID in the development of a Fiji country work plan under the Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development initiative.
In the area of strategic communications, I have assisted in the development of a range of communications strategies over the years and have been recognized for my strong facilitation skills. As a result of this, I set up Salt as a communications and development consultancy, which I operate on my own and work closely in collaboration with several other consultants on specific projects. The communications and development arm of the business works both independently and alongside the leadership training arm.

In addition to this, I am also mum to Sainimili, mother-in-law to Manatau and Bubu to Levi and Lily. I have been divorced since 2003 and one of my current personal goals is to overcome the limiting beliefs that are holding me back from having a loving and fulfilling relationship.
